Superman and Lois Actors for Superman Legacy Revealed!

DC Studios has announced a new Clark Kent and a new Lois Lane. David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan will land coveted roles in James Gunn's "Superman: Legacy.

The latest incarnation of the iconic comics hero will be largely a workplace origin story, Gunn explained when he and DC executive Peter Safran unveiled their narrative plans in January. Corenswet, who rose to fame in Ryan Murphy's Netflix series Hollywood, will play young reporter Kent at the fictional newspaper The Daily Planet. Brosnahan will be his co-star and co-star.

Gunn is directing and writing the project, which is based on the characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Safran ("Aquaman", the forthcoming "Aquaman 2" and the "Conjuring" series) will produce. The film is scheduled for July 11, 2025.

The film focuses on how Superman balances his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing," Safran said earlier this year when he and Gunn presented an extensive lineup of upcoming DC movies and series. "He embodies truth, justice and the American way. He is kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.

This is a fine moment for Corenswet, whose cinematic good looks and Midwestern charm helped him wear "Hollywood," where he played an aspiring actor who worked as a sex worker in the 1940s. He garnered widespread praise for his outstanding performance in Netflix's The Politician as well as A24's acclaimed horror indie film Pearl. He wrote, directed and starred in the web sketch comedy series Moe & Jerryweather. He will next be seen opposite Natalie Portman in Apple's The Lady In The Lake. He is represented by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner & Klein.

Brosnahan already has an established reputation and a string of gold awards for her work on Amazon's long-running series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She broke through on Netflix's "House of Cards." She most recently starred opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Lionsgate's The Courier and alongside Christoph Waltz and Willem Dafoe in director Walter Hill's 2022 western Dead For a Dollar.
