  • "The Godfather: A Masterpiece of Mafia Films"

Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather" from 1972 is undoubtedly a milestone in the mafia film genre and one of the greatest films in the history of cinema. Based on the novel by Mario Puzo, the film tells the epic story of the Corleone family and their power struggles in the world of organized crime. With a brilliant cast, a captivating plot, and masterful direction, "The Godfather" has shaped the mafia film genre and secured its place in the annals of cinema. The film's plot is set in the 1940s and 1950s and focuses on the character of Vito Corleone, played by Marlon Brando. As the head of the Corleone family, Brando embodies the charismatic and ruthless Don in an impressive manner. His performance is iconic and was rewarded with a well-deserved Oscar. Brando brings a certain humanity to the character by emphasizing his love for family and traditional values. At the same time, he portrays the Don's cold determination when it comes to maintaining his power and fighting his enemies. Another outstanding performance in the film comes from Al Pacino, who portrays Michael Corleone, Vito's youngest son. Pacino brings a subtle intensity and a gradual transformation to his portrayal of initially innocent Michael. Starting as a hesitant outsider who wants to stay away from his family's dealings, Michael evolves into a cold and ruthless leader throughout the course of the film. Pacino's acting skills are impressive and make Michael Corleone one of the most memorable character developments in film history. In addition to the two main actors, "The Godfather" also shines with an outstanding ensemble cast. James Caan, Robert Duvall, and Diane Keaton deliver impressive performances as members of the Corleone family. Each actor contributes to the complexity of the plot and the portrayal of familial bonds. Marlon Brando's screen presence is particularly noteworthy, captivating the audience and establishing a strong emotional connection to the characters. Another element that makes "The Godfather" a masterpiece is Francis Ford Coppola's direction. His visionary staging and attention to detail help create an authentic and immersive world. Coppola masterfully uses light and shadow to capture the mood and build tension. His precise camera work and use of slow motion give the film a poetic quality. The famous wedding scene, in which multiple storylines unfold simultaneously, is an example of Coppola's masterful direction. The scene is artistically choreographed and adds an epic dimension to the film. The plot of "The Godfather" is complex and profound. It explores themes of power, loyalty, betrayal, and the moral depths of organized crime. The film depicts the ambivalence of the characters, their inner conflicts, and the consequences of their decisions on their lives and families. The dialogues are sharp and full of meaning, and the plot unfolds slowly but steadily, creating an atmosphere of tension and unease. Another aspect that makes "The Godfather" an outstanding film is the precise reconstruction of the historical setting. The New York of the 1940s and 1950s is portrayed with great attention to detail. The costumes, set design, and street scenes create an authentic atmosphere and transport the viewer to a bygone era of American life. This meticulous pursuit of historical accuracy enhances the credibility of the plot and the immersion of the audience. Another remarkable element of the film is the music by Nino Rota. The iconic soundtrack, dominated by strings and wind instruments, enhances the emotional highs and lows of the plot. The music of "The Godfather" is not only unforgettable but also contributes to creating the deep atmosphere of the film. Despite all the praise, "The Godfather" is not without criticism. Some viewers may criticize the film's length, as it requires a certain level of patience with its runtime of over three hours. There are also moments where the narrative can feel convoluted, and the multitude of characters and storylines may be confusing. Some might argue that the film glorifies organized crime by portraying the Corleone family as ambiguous heroes. However, despite these potential points of criticism, "The Godfather" remains a timeless masterpiece that deserves its place in film history. The film has had a lasting impact on the mafia film genre and has become a cultural phenomenon. It combines outstanding performances, a gripping plot, masterful direction, and a fascinating portrayal of organized crime. "The Godfather" is not just a film; it is an experience that transports viewers into a world full of power and intrigue. In conclusion, "The Godfather" is a timeless masterpiece that has not lost any of its fascination and significance even after decades. Francis Ford Coppola's direction, the impressive performances, the complex and profound plot, and the precise depiction of the mafia milieu make "The Godfather" an unforgettable film. It redefined the mafia film genre and inspired numerous films and directors in the years to come. "The Godfather" goes beyond the boundaries of its genre. It explores universal themes such as family, loyalty, power, and morality. The characters are multifaceted and layered, their motivations and decisions feel authentic and relatable. The film provides insights into human nature and the complex dynamics of power and responsibility. Furthermore, "The Godfather" has had a significant cultural influence. It has not only inspired a series of sequels but also influenced numerous other films, television series, and books dealing with the theme of the mafia and organized crime. The character of Don Vito Corleone and his famous quotes have entered the collective consciousness and have become cultural icons. Lastly, "The Godfather" is also a technically impressive film. The cinematography, lighting, and production design contribute to creating an atmospheric and visually appealing world. The editing of the film is precise and effective, giving the plot a dynamic flow and increasing the tension. Overall, "The Godfather" can be considered not only a masterpiece of the mafia film genre but also a significant work of film in general. The brilliant direction, impressive performances, deep and complex plot, and cultural significance make the film an unforgettable experience. "The Godfather" will continue to be regarded as a classic of cinema in the years and decades to come, captivating and inspiring audiences. Rating:

  • Review of Fast and Furious 10

Fast and Furious 10 is the latest entry in the long-running action film series known for its breathtaking stunts, fast-paced car racing and explosive mix of action and family. Unfortunately, the tenth installment in the series is showing signs of fatigue and repetition, resulting in an overall disappointing experience. One of the film's greatest weaknesses lies in its script. The plot seems predictable and cliched, which means that there is a lack of real tension and surprising twists. It seems as if the filmmakers have relied on repeating the series' well-known recipe for success rather than injecting new ideas. The story is more of an excuse to move from one action-packed scene to the next, with little room for real character development or interesting conflicts. Another criticism is the overemphasis on action sequences at the expense of a well thought out and coherent story. "Fast and Furious 10" increasingly relies on spectacular stunts, which are undoubtedly impressive, but often overshadow the plot. This creates the impression of a series of action scenes without any real narrative context. This can cause the viewer to lose interest in the plot and instead only focus on the visual effects. It lacks the necessary balance between action and a gripping story. In addition, the characters in "Fast and Furious 10" appear to be flatter and less nuanced than in previous films in the series. Most of them are reduced to their stereotypical roles in the team and have little room for personal development or internal conflicts. This makes them look more like caricatures than multidimensional characters, making it difficult to connect emotionally with them or really care about their fate. It lacks the subtle character dynamics and deep relationships that characterized previous films in the series. While Fast and Furious 10 will no doubt find its fans, particularly among the franchise's loyal followers, the film as a whole lacks innovation and freshness. It seems like the series got stuck in its own formula and isn't evolving. For viewers looking for more substance, original ideas and a deeper storyline, the tenth installment in the Fast and Furious saga may disappoint. Ultimately, Fast and Furious 10 remains a film known for its spectacular action cinema and adrenaline-pumping car chases. The breathtaking stunts and dynamic imagery undoubtedly offer entertainment value. However, the film misses the chance to go beyond superficial action cinema and tell a meaningful story. It lacks the depth and emotional resonance that would truly immerse the viewer in the film. Another aspect that needs to be viewed critically is the increasing overstepping of the boundaries of reality. While the Fast and Furious franchise has always been known for its over-the-top stunts and unrealistic car racing, Fast and Furious 10 seems to push those boundaries even further. The laws of physics and the limits of what is possible are deliberately ignored, resulting in moments that are spectacular to watch but question the film's credibility. This can result in the viewer being pulled out of the action and losing connection with the story. Furthermore, it is noticeable that "Fast and Furious 10" hardly brings any new ideas or fresh approaches. It feels more like a rerun of past movies, recycling familiar elements and scenes. There is a lack of innovation and the courage to break new ground. This makes the film look uninspired and gives the impression that the filmmakers are resting on the laurels of previous films. Despite all these criticisms, however, it must be recognized that "Fast and Furious 10" will appeal to and entertain its target audience. For fans of the series who are primarily looking for spectacular action and breathless car chases, the film undoubtedly offers some exciting moments. The return of popular characters and the feeling of togetherness within the team can also be positive aspects of the film.Overall, however, "Fast and Furious 10" is a film that falls short of expectations. The repetitive plot, superficial characters and lack of innovative ideas lead to disappointment. It is to be hoped that the filmmakers will freshen up the series again in the future and find the balance between spectacular action and a gripping story. Rating:

  • "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3": A worthy conclusion with emotional depth and spectacle

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the highly-anticipated conclusion to the popular Guardians series, and reunites the unconventional band of misfits saving the universe. Directed by James Gunn, the film returns to the roots of the franchise and offers a mixture of action, humor and deep emotional moments. While there are many positive aspects to the film, there are also some negative elements that affect the overall experience. Positive aspects: Emotional Depth: One of the greatest assets of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the focus on character development and interpersonal relationships. The film takes time to explore the Guardians' inner conflicts and emotional connections, leading to touching and moving moments. The relationships between Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Drax, Groot and Nebula receive special attention and reveal new facets of the characters. Strong ensemble performance: The cast of the Guardians is outstanding again. Chris Pratt shines as the charismatic Peter Quill / Star-Lord and skillfully embodies the mix of humor and vulnerability. Zoe Saldana convinces as Gamora with her combative attitude and her emotional journey. Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper (voiced by Rocket) and Vin Diesel (voiced by Groot) also deliver top notch performances. The ensemble has remarkable chemistry, bringing depth and authenticity to the characters. Fantastic action sequences and visual effects: "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" impresses with breathtaking action sequences and impressive visual effects. The space battles are staged epic and offer a variety of creative battle scenes. The visual effects are top notch and bring the Guardians universe to life. The colorful and lively design of the different planets and creatures is a feast for the eyes and contributes to the immersion. Negative aspects: Story overload: While the Guardians series is known for its charming mayhem, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" may be trying to fit too many storylines and supporting characters. This occasionally leads to overload and makes some characters and their stories seem superficial. The film could have benefited from a tighter narrative and focus on the main characters. Predictable elements: Despite some surprising twists, the film also contains predictable plot elements. In some moments, this can ease the tension and make the plot less predictable. There are moments where the film could certainly have been bolder to surprise audiences even more. Humor Overload: The Guardians franchise is known for its unique sense of humor, which often serves as the perfect balance to the action-packed scenes. However, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" can occasionally have too many humorous moments, which sometimes spoil the seriousness and emotional depth of the storyline. There are moments when the joke diverts focus from important character development or emotional high points. Conclusion: "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is a worthy conclusion to the Guardians saga, which scores with emotional depth and spectacular action sequences. The character development and the strong ensemble performances give the film a special touch. The visual effects are impressive and add to the immersion in the worlds of the Guardians. However, the film could benefit from a tighter plot and a focus on the main characters. Nonetheless, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 offers an entertaining and satisfying finale for fans of the franchise that will delight them with a mix of action, humor and emotion. Rating:

  • Elemental Criticism: Visually gorgeous, but overloaded with cloying sentimentality

What went wrong at Pixar? This is the innovative animation studio that eclipsed everything in the first decade of this millennium that invented a way to use the graphic look of digital animation to its advantage in the groundbreaking film Toy Story that was willing starting a movie with a 20-minute dialogue-free scene in Wall-E - and finding out kids didn't care - and doing an adventure movie with a 78-year-old hero in Up! would do. Kids didn't care either, it turns out, because Carl Fredricksen was a grumpy grandfather adventurer who didn't care what other people thought of him either. Pixar always had something new up its sleeve. And yet they now come up with a movie as silly and cloying as "Elemental."The title suggests the kids will get a head start on the periodic table, which apparently was director Peter Sohn's first idea, but no. The elements in "Elemental," which closed tonight's Cannes Film Festival, are now the ancient Greek elements: fire, water, air and earth. A candy-colored version of New York, Element City is a water-rich city filled with canals, drains and dams; its inhabitants include earthmen with flowers under their armpits and airmen floating like clouds. The dominant liquid inhabitants are shaped like balloons, nimble humanoid aquatic beings that can disintegrate into their natural element under pressure and then emerge fully reconstituted down the drains. This is how Wade Ripple, the city water works inspector, gets into the store of an elderly fire couple and meets Ember, their spraying daughter.Fire people are dangerous creatures. Aquarians, afraid of being turned to steam, ban them from public buildings. Common folk regularly tell them to go back to where they came from, which is Fireland. Ember's family are immigrants who came to Element City from Fireland after storms devastated their hometown. "It was the only way to create a better life... it was the last time your father saw his family," says Ember's mother, her eyes shut tight, though her smoky eyes can't cry.The fire people, who are hardly tolerated, prefer to keep to themselves. Living across the river from the city, they avoid taking trains where they could inadvertently burn Earthmen's leafy hair to ash or get drenched with water from the overhead aqueducts. "The town isn't made for firemen," Ember says as she embarks on a delivery run for her father's store, which sells the kind of chili balls that firemen love to eat. "It would take an act of God to get me across that bridge... all I need is here." That all changes, however, when she meets Wade, a see-through sausage of wet love who cries at almost everything and genuinely likes Ember even though he can't touch her.Wade takes them downtown, where they take in the view from a very tall building - yes, the Empire State Building - and then go to the movies. "Tide and Prejudice" is shown. There are some such visual jokes, the usual game of "find the details" for the adults watching family movies; you can count on Pixar's geniuses to come up with countless whimsical details. Let's not underestimate that. There are also some wild explosions, especially when Ember gets angry. There are sensational floods and a colorfully designed football game between aggressive clouds. There just isn't a line or situation that would make you laugh out loud. Not even if you were four years old.Nobody knows anything, as William Goldman said. It's true that kids were happy to see a movie about the friendship of a tin can with a steering wheel in Wall-E, which previously seemed unlikely. Still, I'm confident they'll find the cheesy romance between the unlikely Ember and Wade just gross. Because she is."Elemental," a film that starts with a clever concept and builds a world of inventiveness - exactly what we've come to expect from Pixar - then uses that world as the backdrop for a drawn-out will-she-don't-want-her flirtation , which could have been ripped from a telenovela screenplay. I know kids these days know the ways of the world, but that's exactly what gets them embarrassed, especially when it culminates in a big sticky fire-water kiss and their parents are in the room. There are also boring passages. I wonder if young audiences will take the opportunity offered to learn more about the role of water pressure in a canal system that has personally lost me. Perhaps the romance is aimed at girls while the engineering snippets are offered as consolation to boys? This sort of gender stereotyping should be long overdue, but we know it still works and there are, after all, pesky (and currently difficult) market guidelines to follow. Then there's the oft-repeated wisdom about hardworking immigrants and moments when we see just how cruel racists are, signaling a dignified message of inclusivity with all the subtlety of a pipe about to burst under the sink. Smug moralizing is a consistent element of family entertainment, admittedly. Again, kids won't care, but seeing the genuinely heartbreaking experiences of refugees getting smothered in more icing layered on top of the core romance might overwhelm even the most well-meaning, enlightened adults. "Elemental" could actually have been called just "Sentimental". That would have saved time. Rating:

  • "Asterix and Obelix in the Middle Kingdom": A solid sequel with familiar elements.

Asterix and Obelix in the Middle Kingdom" is the latest film in the popular Asterix and Obelix franchise. The story takes the charming Gallic heroes to distant China, where they face new challenges. Striving to capture the spirit of the original comics, the film offers a mix of humorous moments, action-packed scenes and stunning visuals. While the film has many positive aspects, there are also some aspects that fall short of the film's potential and set it apart from other films in the series. On a positive note, "Asterix and Obelix in the Middle Kingdom" does not disappoint the loyal fans of the comic series. The characters, led by popular protagonists Asterix and Obelix, are well established and convincingly portrayed by the actors. The dialogues are funny and add to the humorous tone of the film. The film's visuals are also impressive, with lavish sets, detailed costumes and a well-executed depiction of Chinese culture. The visual effects are well implemented and create an appealing atmosphere. However, "Asterix and Obelix in the Middle Kingdom" falls short of expectations in terms of innovation and fresh ideas. The plot of the film offers little that is new and repeats well-known motifs and elements of the previous films. There aren't any surprising twists or original approaches that would set the film apart from its predecessors. This can lead to some disappointment for longtime fans of the franchise, who were hoping for fresh and innovative stories. Another negative aspect of the film is the shallow supporting characters. While Asterix and Obelix are well developed and exude their usual charm, the secondary characters remain superficial and one-dimensional. This reduces the story's potential to develop interesting and complex dynamics between characters. The film's pacing is uneven, resulting in some lengths and an inconsistent pacing. There are moments when the storyline is gripping and gripping, but there are also passages that feel tedious and needlessly stretched out. A tighter narrative and more balanced pacing would have helped the film consistently engage audiences. Overall, Asterix and Obelix in the Middle Kingdom is a solid sequel that will satisfy fans of the franchise. The film features humorous moments, well-crafted visuals, and familiar characters that audiences love. However, the film lacks innovation. Rating:

  • "Book Club 2: A disappointing sequel that lacks the charm of the original"

Book Club 2 tries to build on the success of the popular original film, but unfortunately this sequel lacks the spark that made the first part so charming. Despite the return of talented actresses and a promising premise, the film fails to convey the same enthusiasm and heartiness as its predecessor. One of Book Club 2's greatest weaknesses lies in its script. The story feels unnecessarily complicated and cluttered, and lacks a clear, compelling plot. The film attempts to introduce too many storylines and supporting characters, resulting in narrative fragmentation. As a result, the viewer quickly loses interest and cannot develop a strong connection to the characters. Additionally, the jokes and humor in Book Club 2 are often forced and shallow. The funny moments from the first film are repeated here and lose their original freshness and originality. There are some laughs, but they're sparse and don't make up for the lack of an engaging storyline. Another problem lies in the staging of the film. The direction and camera work seem uninspired and unimaginative. There is a lack of visual sophistication and the actresses' flair for staging. As a result, the film often appears boring and uninspired, and the scenes lose momentum and dynamism. Although the actresses do their best and try to shine with their characters, they don't seem to have the same level of chemical harmony and naturalness in Book Club 2 as they did in the first part. The interactions between the characters feel forced and unnatural, affecting the believability of the story. All in all, Book Club 2 is a disappointing sequel that fails to capture the charm and excitement of the original film. With a weak script, forced humor, and uninspired direction, this film lacks the vibrancy and heart that made the first part so endearing. Despite the best efforts of the talented actresses, Book Club 2 falls short of expectations and will likely disappoint fans of the first film. Rating:

  • A compelling sequel that lives up to expectations but falls short on some levels

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated sequels in the field of animated superhero films. As a huge fan of the first film, I had high expectations for this sequel. While there are undoubtedly many positive aspects to the film, I have to make a few criticisms. On a positive note, Across the Spider-Verse is visually stunning. The style of animation stays true to its predecessor, delivering a unique and innovative aesthetic. The blend of different animation techniques and styles gives the film a lively and dynamic atmosphere that immerses viewers in the Spider-Verse. The action sequences are staged spectacularly and offer a lot of visual thrills. Each frame is filled with stunning detail that draws the eye and transports viewers into a world of superhero adventures. The plot of the film ties in seamlessly with its predecessor and promises to continue the story. It's gratifying to see beloved characters return and meet new characters. The relationships between the various Spider-People are developed and there are some emotional moments that can pull the viewer in. What is particularly impressive is the way the film captures different dimensions and alternate realities. This opens up new narrative possibilities and creates a certain tension and curiosity about what is to come next. However, the film also has some weaknesses. While the animation is impressive, the plot can feel a little confusing at times. There are many parallel storylines and time jumps that make it difficult to keep track of. The story moves at a rapid pace, frequently switching between characters and different realities. This causes the narrative to feel bumpy and cluttered in places. Some viewers may have difficulty following the action and understanding the characters' motivations. Another point of criticism is the fact that the film is a sequel that builds on the first part. This makes it difficult to consider "Across the Spider-Verse" as a standalone film. A deeper understanding and prior knowledge of the first film is necessary to fully grasp the plot and characters. New viewers who haven't seen the first part may have trouble understanding the Spider-Verse and the dynamics between the various Spider-People. This limits the film's potential as a standalone work and may be off-putting for some viewers. Rating:

  • Film review: Is it really worth going to the cinema for Asteroid City?

Asteroid City" tries to present an epic sci-fi adventure in the vastness of space, but ultimately fails due to various aspects that do not fully realize the film's potential. A central point of criticism concerns the plot. While the idea of a city on an asteroid is intriguing, the story remains superficial and cliche. There is a lack of innovative ideas or unexpected twists that could captivate the viewer. The characters remain flat and stereotyped without developing any deeper development or emotional connections with the audience. As a result, viewers only superficially share in the excitement. Another weak point lies in the staging of the film. The visual effects often feel cheap and unrealistic, which detracts from the believability of the space scenes. The action scenes are sometimes staged spectacularly, but they lack coherent choreography and a clear spatial understanding. This takes away the suspense and thrill. The acting performances in "Asteroid City" are average. Although the cast consists of talented actors, they are limited by the weak script and lack of character development. The dialogue is often stiff and cliche, further undermining the characters' credibility. Another shortcoming concerns the thematic depth of the film. Although science fiction is often used as a genre to explore social or philosophical issues, "Asteroid City" lacks a deeper subtext. The storyline remains superficial, largely limited to superficial action and special effects, without offering meaningful messages or discussions about human nature. Overall, "Asteroid City" feels like missed potential. The interesting premise is underused to tell a compelling story. The weak plot, visual flaws and superficial characters ultimately make the film feel like your average sci-fi deep space adventure. Rating:

With a mixture of action, humor and emotional moments, the film promises an immersive adventure for fans of the genre. Indeed, The Flash delivers an entertaining and satisfying experience that will delight new viewers and loyal fans alike. The choreography of the fights is fluid and engaging, resulting in exciting and adrenaline pumping moments. The film also strikes a good balance between humor and seriousness. The dialogues are witty and witty, making for some humorous and amusing moments. At the same time, the film also deals with serious themes such as loss, self-discovery and the responsibility that comes with superpowers. This balance between light humor and deeper emotionality contributes to the overall effect of the film and gives it a certain depth. Another positive aspect of "The Flash" is the interplay of the characters. There are a number of supporting characters alongside Barry Allen, each with their own story and dynamic. The relationships between the characters are well developed, leaving room for interesting conflicts and emotional connections. Of particular note is the chemistry between Barry and [name of other character], which is both heartwarming and suspenseful. Despite its many strengths, "The Flash" is not free from small weaknesses. The plot might be predictable at some points, and some elements might be familiar to seasoned superhero movie viewers. There are also moments when the story seems a bit overloaded and the pace falters a bit. However, these small imperfections do not detract from the overall experience and enjoyment of the film. The visual design of "The Flash" is impressive. The camerawork and visual effects help emphasize the speedy superhero's abilities and make the audience feel like they're hurtling through the world themselves at breathtaking speeds. The color palette and design of the sets and costumes are appealing and fit well with the mood of the film. Another positive aspect is the successful integration of cameo appearances from other DC superheroes. These appearances are well placed and fit organically into the plot without taking the focus away from Barry Allen and his story. They serve more as a complement and open up possibilities for future films and storylines in the expanded DC Universe. Overall, The Flash is an entertaining and engaging superhero film that cleverly combines action, humor and emotional moments. With a successful portrayal of the main character, impressive action sequences, a good balance between lightness and seriousness as well as strong chemistry between the characters, the film offers a refreshing and gripping cinematic experience. For fans of the genre and especially the Flash character, this film is a must-see. Rating:

  • Transformers Ryse of the Beasts: A solid film with lots of action but limited originality

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts brings the popular Transformers franchise to the big screen and promises once again spectacular action and breathtaking visual effects. The film certainly offers fans of the franchise what they expect: epic robot battles, impressive transformations and a dazzling display of visual effects. However, the question is whether the film introduces enough new elements to engage viewers, or whether it gets lost in the familiar patterns of previous films. One of the strengths of "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" is undoubtedly the visual effects. The robot models are detailed and impressively designed, and the transformation scenes are fluid and spectacular. The action scenes are engaging and offer a good mix of close combat and large-scale battles. This film is definitely a feast for fans of visual effects and action. However, the film falls a bit short of expectations in terms of plot and character development. The story follows a similar pattern to the previous films in the series and offers little innovation. The human-robot dynamics established in the previous films are re-explored, but there are few new discoveries or surprises. The characters remain largely one-dimensional and superficial, making it difficult to connect with them more deeply. Another aspect missing from "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" is a clear focus. The film attempts to introduce a variety of Transformers generations and characters, causing the plot to feel cluttered and dividing the audience's attention. It would have been desirable if the film had presented a coherent story with strong character development and a clear thread. Despite these flaws, there is still entertainment value in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The action scenes and visual effects are impressive and keep the pace high. Fans of the Transformers franchise will likely be satisfied as the film retains the franchise's familiar elements and style. Overall, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a solid entry in the Transformers franchise, boasting spectacular action and stunning visual effects. Unfortunately, the film lacks innovation and a strong plot, resulting in limited originality. Still, for fans of the franchise and lovers of visually stunning cinema, the film offers an entertaining experience. Rating:

  • Sorry, Chris Hemsworth, but only 21 minutes of Extraction 2 are truly worth watching!

Recently, Tyler Rake: Extraction 2 was released on Netflix, a two-hour film. However, you can safely skip the first 102 minutes. When I watch action movies, it's usually not about the plot for me. What's more important are impressive stunt and fight choreographies that pump adrenaline through your body while sitting on the couch. John Wick: Chapter 4 recently showed how fantastic such a genre film can be when it creatively jumps from one unexpected location to another. From the beginning, I didn't have high expectations for Tyler Rake: Extraction 2. After all, I found Sam Hargrave's first installment, Tyler Rake: Extraction, only average. That was confirmed in the second part as well. However, there are these 21 breathless minutes in the sequel that action fans absolutely must see. The plot of Tyler Rake 2 doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how many children Tyler Rake saves this time. I don't even care that Chris Hemsworth's character, despite his fame as Thor and his muscle-packed victories, doesn't have enough profile as an action hero. He conforms too much to the cliché of the laconic killer with a heart who fights his past with fists and firearms. And his adversaries are just as interchangeable. However, the first Extraction film three years ago already impressed with an impressive seemingly uninterrupted 12-minute action scene. And the sequel promised to surpass this achievement with a furious 21-minute sequence, cleverly hiding the cuts. And damn, scenes like that just draw me in. Experiencing this breathless journey in a single shot has already swept me off my feet in films like 1917 and many other uninterrupted films. But with Tyler Rake, we're not talking about an uneventful, slow scene. Instead, it's about a chase and pursuit where sparks fly. That's the best action scene in Netflix's Tyler Rake: Extraction 2. For some reason, Tyler Rake has to rescue a family from a Georgian prison. The context doesn't matter. Although the infiltration of the secure area initially goes smoothly, something naturally goes wrong in the end. And then it's all about shooting, fighting, and running for Chris Hemsworth's character. Welcome to Netflix's 21-minute jump-and-run adventure in Extraction 2. You'll find it between the 26:18 and 41:20 mark. Without any noticeable cuts, it takes us through narrow barred corridors and then out into the prison courtyard where a battle rages. It doesn't matter who the combatants are, whether inmates or guards, or whoever is after Tyler Rake and his liberated victims. What matters is that Chris Hemsworth referred to the prison scene as "the toughest thing I've ever done," and we can see it. Continuing without any apparent cuts, the perspective dramatically switches during the subsequent car chase from the driver's seat through the window to the drone's view and back. For a brief moment, I wonder how in the world they filmed it when we were just clinging to the bumper of an exploding car and suddenly find ourselves back on the backseat of the pursued vehicle. But there's no time for contemplation, and that's just as well. Just when I think that the action on Netflix is over, the characters - still without any noticeable cuts since the start of the escape - suddenly find themselves on a moving train! And Chris Hemsworth shoots at a passing helicopter that shortly thereafter disappears in an explosion! Essentially, Sam Hargrave strings together three scenes in Extraction 2 as a rapid action sequence. However, the staging as an apparent continuous shot reliably accelerates the heart rate, allowing us to simply enjoy the wild ride for what it is: pure action without deeper meaning. Rating:
