HotD FOLGE 4 Scene 1: The Night of Roses

Aktualisiert: 18. Sept. 2022

The first scene of the fourth episode of House of the Dragon takes us to Storm Cape, where Rhaenyra is shown passing through the Kingdoms. These journeys through the country are of great importance, because they make you more popular among the people and thus prevent an uprising as early as possible. She sits on an iron chair, which has been crouched with a fur so that she does not get cold. Next to her sits Boremund Baratheon and in front of her are several evaluators vying for her hand.

At first, the camera moves slowly over Rhaenyra's face and body, and one notices that Rhaenyra repeatedly plays with the chain she got in a previous episode of Daemon. This shows that she is thinking about her uncle and does not want to be here. Then the camera wanders on and shows a queue of people praying for the queen's hand.

Then the camera wanders on and hangs on an older man who is giving a speech for the princess. But she finds him much too old and makes fun of him. After she has turned him away, a little boy emerges. He is from the house of Bracken. But here, too, Rhaenyra does not see the desired fiancé in him and knows him because he is too young.

But before the young Bracken can step back, Amos Blackwood calls him a Craven, whereby the young Bracken draws his sword and Balckwood his dagger. The interesting thing about this scene is that in Game of Thrones it was always told that the House of Blackwood and the House of Bracken had arguments again and again and this was now shown here. On the other hand, it is also interesting that here the young Bracken wins, while in the book it is exactly the other way around.

During the two battles, Rhaenyra decides to leave the castle, break off the royal tour and return to King's Mouth.
